Act 46
Blue Mountain Union, Oxbow High School, Bradford and Newbury Elementary Schools have formed a unified committee to develop a plan for becoming one district. The focus being to provide greater opportunities for our students as well as maximizing operational efficiencies.
During the spring of 2015, OESU received an exploratory study grant of $5,000. During the exploration, the five OESU schools, and it’s neighboring schools of Rivendell Interstate and Blue Mountain Union School discussed possible governance structures. Due to the extraordinary configurations of the seven schools, a merger was not feasible, or for that matter, a popular choice. Seeing many opportunities for collaboration between Blue Mountain Union, Bradford Elementary, Newbury Elementary and Oxbow High School the school boards voted to continue with a merger. Blue Mountain Union School entered into a $20,000 implementation grant.
As we continue our collaboration, please check this site for updated information.
